Hey folks!

Well I'm at the final stages of preparing my submissions for the competition.

So far I've settled on these:

Portrait:


Close Up:


Low Light:


Not 100% sure about the low-light one as yet. I might go with a slightly 'brighter' version.

Whilst there is five briefs in total, I can't do one of them (Bokeh) due to my crappy camera and as it turns out crappier film camera.

The other brief 'Splat' or liquid in motion is a maybe at this stage. Since I'm working during the day, the natural light is gone by the time I finish work. But I might have a crack at it in the weekend (depending on the weather).

Thanks everyone for your support, positive comments/critiques, fav's, and modelling support. Its greatly appreciated.

My aim for this competition is to be nominated as a finalist. If I get that far, I'll be happy. Of course I'll be even more stoked if I win one of the briefs.

So...less than two weeks to go till the end of the Canon competition and I've got photos for one brief that I'm happy with.
Just need to choose out of the following:




And I have to get my s&!t together and get the other briefs done.
Not sure how I'm going to execute them in such a short time frame.
Might have to beg some people to give me some help at the last moment...

*sigh*

I just found my Mum's old film camera and tried using it for Bokeh. And it freaking works! My some-what expensive digital camera can't do it (stupid lens), but my Mum's old not-very-high-end film camera does it! Typical isn't it?
And for those interested, its a Chinon Genesis. All I need to do now is track down a battery for it...

I'm looking for models/guinea pigs for the following briefs:

Splat - Liquid in motion. In other words, throwing paint on you whilst I take photos...

Spectacles - Portrait using goofy looking paper glasses.

My box has 5 great briefs with awesome props/accessories to help achieve the briefs. I'm really excited about this as I've already got a few ideas to develop.

Probably won't post anything until after the competition, partly cos I don't know if I can and partly cos I want to keep my images secret.

But if you'd like to help me out (I could be in need of some models) then drop me a line and we can see what happens. Local friends only of course. I think it'll be too hard to co-ordinate something like this long distance lol.

Not too much has been happening in my artistic world.

I plan to do another 'lovey-dovey' photo session with some friends of mine at some stage. Probably when its closer to summer. Its warming up a bit with spring, but not enough just yet.

I'm still fooling around in Photoshop. Edited an image of my friends dressed in goth with corpse paint on from a shoot ages ago. Might upload it onto here.

And I plan to look at revisiting some of my older photos and giving them a once-over now that I have improved my skills and have some better software.

I should also take some photos of the two pieces I did using Denim instead of canvas. They're quite cool.
